How It Started
SEAGOLD started in 2021 when two friends who had spent most of their lives on boats decided to do something with that. Alex learned to sail when he was a kid and never really stopped. The idea was simple: give visitors a way to see Santorini from the water without being packed onto a tour boat with 40 other people.
We set up at Ammoudi Bay with three boats. Alex still handles most of the briefings himself. He'll walk you through the boat, tell you where to go based on the weather and what you're looking for, and load up the GPS with the good spots. If you book a private tour, there's a decent chance he's the one driving.
Our Location
Most boat rental companies in Santorini operate from Vlychada Marina on the south side of the island. It's about 30 minutes by car from Oia and even further from Fira. We wanted to be where our customers actually stay.
Ammoudi Bay is the small harbor at the bottom of the 300 steps from Oia. Walk down, rent a boat, and you're already in the caldera. When you get back, the sunset and the seafood tavernas are right there.
